UK indie Broad Bean Media is producing a 10-part web series for The Huffington Post, fronted by Game of Thrones star Sophie Turner.
The indie, run by former Lion Television comedy and entertainment chief Joff Powell, is making #PowerShift, which looks at the reach of social media and how younger generations are utilising it. Broad Bean Media, which is producing Katie Piper-fronted doc Extraordinary Births for C4, is co-producing the short-form series with GroupM Entertainment. It marks one of the first commissions to come out of AOL UK, which owns The Huffington Post, and was unveiled at the company’s Digital Upfronts at Bafta on Monday.
#PowerShift will air across The Huffington Post’s 15 international sites, as well as across AOL’s global platforms.
“Social media has revolutionised the way that we communicate globally and is a key part of the HuffPost DNA,” said Hamish Nicklin, managing director of AOL UK.
“#PowerShift will be a fascinating series, commissioned out of the UK, and highlights AOL’s commitment in creating premium video content that delights consumers and enables brands to connect with audiences across a fragmented digital ecosystem.”Click for Bio

The latter has won its first commission for the broadcaster with the Katie Piper-fronted Posh Births (working title).
The Bodyshockers presenter will explore the different approaches women take to childbirth, including fruitarian diets, spiritualist ocean births in the presence of dolphins and mothers-to-be inspired by Kate Middleton.
